The correspondence between the Gene ral and Mr. Wright of Ohio, has also been published.... and as this is equally commendable for its "brevity and lacon ism," wc give our readers a specimen of this style, as well as that of "urbanity and propriety." He was to have been married this week to a youno la dy in Virginia, and as wc learn, was on his way to consummate his engagement, when his horse took fright, runaway and threw him out of his gig, by which he was so much injured, as to survive but a short time. DOWD, has appointed to preach at Mams' Cha pel, on Thursday, the 19th of April next Friday 20th, at Rocky Swamp Saturday 21st, at Quankey Chapel Sunday 22d, in Halifax town Tuesday 24th, at Smith's Church and, on Thurs day night, 26th, in Tarborough. Com. Laic Intelligence. The case of Charles L. Smith vs. Lewis P. Franks, the editor of the "Inde pendent Balance," for a libel pub lished in that paper against Mr. fcmith, was recently tried at Phi ladelphia. The jury crave the ex emplary verdict of ten thousand dollars damages for the Plaintiff, being the whole amount claimed. Horrid Murder.
