Previous experience on the plan of Mutual In struction, or that of the Monitorial and Lancasterian combined as circumstances required, connected with the facilities afforded by having a uniformity of the most approved school books, have ena bled the Principal, the Rev. Sidney JVcller, A. M. to conduct the School himself, with no assistance except that of his scholars. Should any, not ac quainted with the above plan, doubt the facility which it affords an individual for teaching a large number advantageously, let them not hastily decide against (what is thought by many whose opinions are entitled to deference) an improvement in education: but as one means of set ting light on the subject, let them attend the coming Examination and judge for themselves from the effect of the plan. Rags dale, a gentleman of high literary at tainments, in behalf of this Institution. All branches of education, necessary for admission into any of the classes of the University of our own State, will be taught in this Seminary. The Terms of Tuition are, for all branches of the English language, 20 HPT annum nf hfr -tr?innbf: rf lo'irninn- S25 per annum, payable quarterly in advance. Board can be obtained in respectable houses, convenient to the Academy, at from five to seven dollars per month. This School is now in operation a vacation will take place on the first of August, and continue until the first of October by which time the Academy will be removed from the place where it now stands, to a situation highly de sirable, both as regards the health and morals of the Students. The Trustees flatter themselves, that from the locality of this Institution, from the character of the inhabitants near it, and from the qua lifications of its Principal, it is entitled to a liberal share of patronage. We have ex amined (says the Norfolk Herald) several samples of wines made by Col. Adlum,from his vineyards in the District ot Columbia, which for richness and flavor, are not surpassed by similar kinds of wine ot European vintage. This is an other evidence of the peculiar fe licity of our country in being bles sed with a soil and climate genial to the production of whatever can be supplied from almost every part of the globe, and of our inde pendence naturally as well as po litically ot the old world. Of the perfection to which Col.
