Information Wanted.
iRANCIS PATTERSON, an aged,
infirm, and indigent soldier ol the
Revolution, now residing in the State
of Mississippi, is desirous of procuring
the requisite testimony, in order to ena
ble him to obtain a pension from the
General Government. He states that
he enlisted in Edgecombe county, North
Carolina, in the 24th regiment of the
Continental line; that he served six
years, and was taken prisoner at Cam
den, Gates's defeat. Any person or
persons knowing the fact of Mr. Patter
son's revolutionary services, will please
communicate it to the Postmaster at
Tarborough,N.C. April, 1S30.

2Sth nit. a negro fellow who says his
name is BEN, that lie was sold at Mr.
Thos. Gray's sale, in Virginia, and that
he was bought by Jesse Little for Mr.
Wythe, a negro trader. JJe.n was for
merly the properly of James Gray,
of Edr combe county he is about 22
years old, 5 feel 6 inches high, stout
built, very black complexion, and has
a very pleasant countenance. The
owner ot the above negro is hereby no
tified to come forward, prove propony,
pay charges and take him away, or he
will be dealt with as the law directs.

Longevity. It is not ofton in
our power to record such an in
stance of longevity as the follow
ing: Anthony Van Pelt, of Greene
county, lately died at the advanced
age of 26 years and 2 months.
During the Revolutionary war, he
was excused from military duty
on account of his years. He is
said to have enjoyed to the last,
in a remarkable manner, the use
of all his faculties, particularly his

Gold Mines. ...The Fredericks
burg (Va.) Arena states that Mr.
Rivafinoli, chief director of one
of the large mining companies of
London, attended by three other
gentlemen in the employ of the
same company, was lately in that
town, for the purpose of making
an examination of the gold dis
trict, with a view of ascertaining
its mining capabilities. They in
tend visiting North-Carolina also,
and should the report which they
will make, as to the indications of
gold in either State, be favorable,
the company in London will pro
ceed forthwith to invest a large
capital In the erection of suitable
buildings and machinery.
