Information Wanted.
PRANCIS PATTERSON, an aged,
infirm, and indigent soldier of the
Revolution, now residing in the State
of Mississippi, is desirous of procuring
the requisite testimony, in order to ena
ble him to obtain a pension from the
General Government. He slates that
he enlisted in Edgecombe county, North
Carolina, in the 24th regiment of the
Continental line; that he served six
years, and was taken prisoner at Cam
den, Gates's defeat. Any person or
persons knowing the fact of Mr. Patter
sou's revolutionary services, will please
"omniunicate it to the Postmaster at
Tarborough, N.C. April, 1S30.

MORE, 5 feet S or 10 inches high, has
with him a permit to look him a master
from under my hand. It is believed
that said negro is lurking about the plan
tations of John and Turner Bass, hav
ing been seen there repeatedly in open
day. I will give the above reward for
the safe delivery of said negro to me or
deposited in any jail so I get him again.
All persons arc hereby forbid harboring,
employing or carrying ctl said negro,
under the penalty of the law.

Notice.
COMMITTED to the Jail of Edge-
combe county, N. C. on Sunday, the
2Sth ult. a negro fellow who says his
name is BEN, that he was sold at Mr.
Thos. Gray's sale, in Virginia, and that
he was bought by Jesse Little for Mr.
Wythe, a negro trader. Ben was for
merly the properly of James Gray
of Edgecombe county he is about 22
years old, 5 feel G inches high, stout
built, very black complexion, and has
a very pleasant countenance. The
owner of the above negro is hereby no
tified to come forward, prove property,
pay charges and take him away, or he
will be dealt with as the law directs.

HAVE it in contemplation to leave
Tarborough about the middle of
June, to be absent from three to four
months any person having business
with me will please make it known be
fore that time, likewise if there should
be any unsettled claims against me, I
wish them presented for payment be
fore I go thos-e who neglect to avail
themselves of this notice, it shall be
plead in bar of their recovery. Under
the supervision of a friend or two, I
shall leave in my shop a young man ca
pable to attend to any business that may
occur among my friends and customers
during my absence also, a quantity of
good made up work, consisting of men's
