In a wreck which occured Tues day on the Asheboro and Aberdeen railroad. Rev. G. A. Oglesby pas tor of the Methodist Church at Aberdeen, was killed snd several passengers injured. Two cars fell down an embankment and were de molished. The mer chants of North Carolina are great ly interested in this sction of the sub-committee. Senator J. A. Long, chairman of committee, said of this measure that it was placed upon the mercan tile interest of the State to pay cer tain indebtedness and should have been repealed before. The sub-committee is composed of Senators Long, of Persons, Chair man. Odell, of Cabarrus, and Ever ett, of Richmond, and Representa tives Wood, of Randolph; Stronacb of Wake; Coffield, of Martin, and Davia, of Burke. Miss Mary Brokenbrough, of Charlotte, who has been the guest of Miss Eliza Lamb, has gone to Washington for a visit. Miss Brokenbrough, who is a belle wher ever she goes, won the bearts of Williamston people by her beauty and charming manners.
