Brown, a former County Commiss died, at his home near Oak City Wednesday afternoon ot paralysis. He was sixty-five years old and leaves a wife and a number of of children. Mr. Brown served as County Commissioner during 1883 and 1884 and made a good record. The funeral will take place from his late residence this afternoon at two o'clock. An Opportunity Mr. W. T. Meadows has a letter from a Baltimore Manufacturer that wishes to retire from the man ufacturing business and wishes to dispose of his plant. The plant will be sold tor $25,000 and the manufacturer will take $15,01x3 stock in a company buying same. This is a business already built up and the moving of the plant would not necessarily mean a, loss of anv of the patronage now enjoyed by the company. If a company could !>e formed here to purchase this plant it would mean a great deal for Williamston. Mr. Meadows has the catalogue of the articles manufactured as well the inventory of the plant and will be glad to show them to anyone in terested. Appreciation "(Reported) The citizens of Williamston presented a very handsome cane to Mr. Frank F. Fagau on Thurs day last to assure him of their ap preciation for his efforts in secur ing the new train which we hap pily style the "Fagan's Special". A committee of three being ap pointed to present same to Mr. Fagan, the chairman said: Please allow us to present to you this souvenir as a token of our ap preciation for your invaluable ser vice rendered the town and com* inunity in securing the extra pas senger train from which we derive so much pleasure and benefit on account of its convenient schedule. Your untiring energy and wise efforts proved a "Sine quo non" to what we now appreciate so much, namely, the "Fagan Spec-J •al". —Ask tor El Coreso, Refuse others.
