F. Bumpass, of the Warrenton Conference, preached here Monday night, and held a business meet'ug with the official members of the Church after ser vices. —W. F. Hemby presented an apple to the Editor, which is some what a curiosity. It was found in A barrel of fruit and is formed of two distinct apples grown together but hanging from the same stem. Some one very fecetiously called it • ' Siamese" apple. —The construction of the rail road bed to the river will be com pleted in about three weeks, if con ditions are good during that time. The work has progressed rapidly and has been done a ell —the track «aking an attractive picture viewed from the curve. Died in Washington County i Mr. Wilson B. Hodges, of near Pleasant Grove died at five o'clock Wednesday morning, Oct. 2nd., and was laid to rest in old St. l,uke's Church-yard about noon the following aay, the last sad rites being conducted by Rev. L W. Black welder Rector of this Parish. The deceased was prominently con nected with the first families of this County, was about 48 years old and leaves a wife, formerly Mrs. War ren Cobnm nee Ida Robertson of t WiUiamston, and five children, one sister, Mrs. S.
