Address all Communications to THE ENTERPRISE, Wllllamston, N. C. Friday, November 7, iqi^ We are publishing this week the Federal Game Law passed this year by Congress. A study of it should by these in clined to shoulder a gun and go forth. State laws allowing the killing of robins, etc., in certain seasons, are void now. Judging from this Federal law. there is very little game lest for the sport of the hunter. Unfortunate Condition England today is mistress of the seas and her kingdom stretch es so far that the sun never sets upon it in all the years. And yet she is at this moment in the throes of a conflict more difficult to decide than even that of the battles which she fought success fully. Property, life nor any thing is safe from the acts of vio lence done by the English women who want the ballot. Instead of women they have become fiends, burning, attacking and humiliat ing the great men of the realm. Punishment does them no good— they pose as martyrs and would, no doubt, have made excellent food for lions in the age when Nero caused Christians to be de vour >d by the beasts. Such en durance and persistency as theirs if turned into the right channel, would be marvelous things for the uplift of humanity. It is easy to decide that these women are not ready for the bal lot. To fat England at their mercy at the polls would be dan gerous. The entire world is shocked at their acts, and though their chief leader, Mrs. Pank hurst, has been given a respect ful hearing in America, we would perfer her absence to her speech es. Her one object in coming here, however, was to collect funds,)as we seem to be "easy" for foreigners. The country will feel relieved when her ship dis appears from the eyes of those on shore. y Reelected Secretary / At the sixty-ninth session of the Christian Missionary Conven tion, which was held in Asheville, Editor W. C. Manning was re elected recording secretary, a position which he has filled for the past two years. The Con vention will meet next year in Greenville. Mr. J. Fred Jones, of Illinois, was elected corres ponding secretary and will ceme to North Carolina to give his en tire time to evangelical work.
