Meadows | Editor Enterprise: The question is ask&lj every year what becomes >f the I taxes collected, I have gone to considerable trouble to get up a Financial statement which I am enclosing for publication, so the tax payers can see exactly what it cost to run the town and the schools. statement covers 13 months as it is impossible to get an exact statement for 12 months owing to the town year ending in May, and the school year in June. This statement i covers all taxes collected for one j year by E. A. Edwards, for the j town, which amounted to j $11,141.66, and which amount isj correct, f or the same has been checked up against Edwards by i VV. C. Manning t»nd VV. T. Mead-1 ows, who were appointed by town and school boards to check him up. The other receipts- for the! year come from C. L). Carstar- j phen, Treas. of County school; fund, and Ex-Treas. C H. January | had 3.38 inches of rainfall, 13 j rainy days and 20 cloudy ones; ! February, 2.48 inches of rain, 10 ; rainy days, 13 cloudy; March to 24th, 4.19 inches of rain, 10 rainy days, 15 cloudy. To sum up; ( For the 83 days, there were 10:05 ■ inches of ram, 32 rainy days, , and 48 cloudy ones.
