Train Dispatcher Scott, of Ry. Mt. spent Monday night in town on business. Miss Maggie Sparks is the guest of Mary Gladys Watts this week. Misses Sue Leggett and Alma Sparks spent the Fourth in Rob ersonville Misses Sallie. Etnel and Pattie Harris left Tuesday to visit rela tives in Tarboro. Mrs. Eugene Gordy and Miss Mae Bennett spent Wednesday in Hobgood. E. A. Lilley, of Spring Hili, was in town Saturday. Mrs. Octavioas Manning and little child spent the Fourth in Robersonville Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Watts and son were here on the Fourth. Clyde Anderson spent the Fourth out of town. Mrs S. N. Yarrell and Emma Beile Yarrell left for Macon yesterday. A. D Mizell has been in Win ston-Salem this week on business. Mrs- Bettie Harrell left Mon day for New York where She will study at Columbia College for several months. Prof. J. T. Jerome went to Raeford Friday to begin his school work in Hoke County, as Superintendent- Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bowers motored here from Jackson Sun day and spent the day with Mrs. J. T. Jerome. Miss Mildred Purvis. Mrs. J. H Purvis and Dr. and Mrs. God win motored to Ry. Mt. Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bullock, of Bat tleboro, visited Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Harrison Sunday. Miss Elizabeth Braswell, of Battleboro, has been tne guest of Mrs. George Harrison this week. Miss Emma Robertson left Tuesday to visit friends in Bat tleboro. Col. W. G. Lamb left Tuesday for Baltimore, where he will serve his customers for the fall trade. Ernest Burrell went to Rich mond Monday to accept a position in that city. Xr Mrs .T. A Everett and Mrs- W. -1 Hodges went to Norfolk yesterday. Dr. J. W. Williams and family of Everetts. visited relatives he**e on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. G.'Godard and Miss Sallie Hadley spent Fridav in Washington. Miss Fannie Mvrt Manning left Saturday for Southern Pines to visit Mrs. J. J. Stroud. Mrs. Sallie Biggs, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Hovt and Rqv. C. H. Jordan attended the funeral of R n v, Nathaniel Harding last week. IV. Rridgman Perry, of Hope well, has been visiting in the county for the pa=t week. John L. Rodgerson and family motored to Richmond last week and snent the time with his sis ter, Mrs. Mark Dawes. A. D. Mizell went to Ry. Mt. Saturdav to join his wife, who was returning from a visit to South Carolina. Dr. Warren and Mrs. Ballance accompanied Mrs. Augusta Wool ard to week, where she will receive treatment. Mrs. P. F. Apfel left Saturday for her home in Norfolk after a short visit here. Her many friends will be pleased to learn that she will return before the month enis. She checked the speed of her machine or the boy would have been hurt seriously.
