No ad valorem taxes for State pur

Leave property, ta\es fur counties,

Raise sufficient revenue for State

SAYS FINANCIAL CRISIS!
SUCCESSFULLY PASSED '
Editor of "t in •" ' ,
Now- that oi.e of the greatest fi-'j,
uaucial depiessiolis of years is past |
the crisis, and if fast disappearing en-1 ;

Of course wo rejoice mostly that the
I worst is over aod that the sun Is rf.i

mercial activity, such as the world has
never seen before.
To my mind one of the greatest
j reasons why our section will respond
[ to the commercial call and soon reach
j new high levels is the way it stands
adversity.
All of us know that the real test
of a people is not in prosperity, but
in adversity.
Handling thousands of dollars of
real estate and other notes of nil
kinds during t'nis period as I did, I 1
j will admit that at first 1 was fearful
that some of our people would
j too thoroughly saturated with gloom
and pessimism to even make the e
j fort, Jut .in this 1 was mista'' •
lu-arly lOOper cent for almost every-
I body did tlioi rbest to pay up as far

] with bankers, retailers and manufuct
l urer and the experience was generally
I the same. Our company likwis* did
[ its best to pass on to others this spir-1
.1 it of cooperation and live and let lise.
Of course when a people as a whole
, do the! rlevel best under such con
dition they ure bound to be one of the
first to receive the hneftts of changd
conditions, for there is no power that
can keep such a people down. They
