You have one whether you have writ

BUILDING BETTER BODIES

KALLIGII, Jan. 22. —It Li very in

- One hot dish in the rural school
✓
lunch was promoted by the home dem
onstration clubs in fifteen counties
last year And* Mrs. McKimmon. By
no means did all the rural schools do
this she says, but 40 vitalized com
munities actually made plane, and car
ried them out, to serve the children
hot milk, hot cocoa, or hot soup at
the recess period. »
At Lilesville the hot lunch was fi
nanced by the home demonstration
club supplemented by thuigs the chil
' dren brought from home. Each teach
-ler with the aid of the larger club
girls prepared the hot soup for hei
I own room. As the school room stoves
were at on top this could be easily
| done without extra equipment. The
rural children enjoyed it immensely
and the town children beggjed to stfoy
also. In the summer 250 suarts ol
soup mixture was canned by mother.-
1 and donated for.winter lunches.
One teacher in Halifax county said
there had been a wonderful change in
the kind of food the children brought
in their lunch boxes since the home
agent hat! given demonstrations to
mothers and.furnished them with typ
ed menus, embracing those things
found in almost any country home. (
