Local and Personal Mr. Robert Manning left yesterday for Wilson, where he will enter At lantic Christian College for the com ing year. Messrs. Elbert S. Peele, A. R. White Whit Purvis and Chas. R. Mobley at tended the State convention of the American Legion. They represented the John Hassell Post. Miss Vella Andrews, of Norfolk, spent the week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Andrews. Mr. George Roberson and son, Wil liam, of Norfolk, visited relatives here Sunday. Mrs. L J. Phitchard and daughter, Mary Pritchard, and son, Mr. J. H. Pritchard, of St. Joseph, Mo., have been spelling several days with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lindsley. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Norman, of Norfolk, Va., spent the past week end with Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lindsley. Attorney Lyn Bond, of Tarboro, was here on professional business yes terday. Judge Bragaw, of Washington, was in the city Monday. Mr. J.
