Baker, of Washington, D. C., spent the week end in town with friends. „ Miss Anna Crawford has returnee, from Kittrell, where she spent sever al weeks with Miss Mildred Purvis. Messrs. Garland Anderson and Wil liam Clyde' Harrell, of the State High-, way Commission, spent Christmas with relatives. Mr. Robert Peel returned yesterday to Knoxville, Tenn., where he works with the Tennessee State Highway Commission. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Micelle and lit tie son, Dan, visited Mrs. Anna Har rison Christmas Day. Mrs. C. A. Harrison- and little daughters, Beck, Katharine, and Blanche, have returned from Leggetts where they visited Mrs. Blanche An derson. Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Bennett and Mrs. Carrie Biggs Williams are visit ing Dr. Edgar Morrison at Virginia Beach. Judge Smith, of Robersonville, at tended to professional business here yesterday. And our only regret is that we were unable to write the many cards we would have liked to and send pres ents, but the recent destruction of our furniture has caused us much work and little time was to be had. We appreciate fully every thought given us. Rev. E. D. DODD. Four Oaks, N. C. Mrs. G. H. Harrison Entertains Tuesday On Tuesday night at her lovely and spacious home on Main Street, Mrs. G. H. Harrison entertained at tTte first party of the Christmas holidays. The decorations were suggestive of tho season and the whole lower floor thrown open was a very pretty back ground for the affair. Tables were arranged for bridge and rook, and the guests enjoyed these games until a late hour. Misses Velma and Evelyn Harrison and Margaret Manning served refresh ments, which consisted of chicken sal ad, potato chips, sandwiches, pickles and coffee. Mrs. oJe Pender made the most progressions in rook and was present ed a bottle of perfume and Mrs. El bert Peel was given a perfume spray for making high score In bridge.
