Address ail communications to ilie Emeryi'iac LU'IIIER HI HliA.Nt Ti'KNS lO WORisHiP OF SCIENCE .• Science has again become the ob ject of wcrstiip. This time Luthe» Hurbank makes it his God. It is a strange tiling why a human being will worship anything he pos sesses in excess of normal need, "yet it is true that they will do so. Poor ir.en never worship money— they do not have enough, all they have has to be used for daily needs. We do not worship our wardrobes unless they are filled to overflowing. Vv e do not worsliip our. beauty unless we think we surpass others. Just the same with Luther Hurbank. lie worships science and says there is ( uo God; that Jesus was a fine fellow but an infidel. Mr. Liurbank dug deep enough in a few of the tilings in nature to change plants and improve them. He has bred the seed out of certain types of oranges and now we hail him us the great plant wizard. He has done many other things in the plant world to make his name great. All these things have appeared to kindle vanity of the old man and make him tay with boastfulness, "1 am an in fidel. There is no God." He seems to forget that he himself ( is breathing God's air several times every minute; he uses God's and rain to make his plants grow v If Mr. liurbank will count the parts he furnishes in the growth of plants and then the number of things God furnishes, and render a fair judgment, he would doubtless admit there is something in nature that surpasses science. There is ah author of science some where. If it is not God, then, Mr. Lurbank, what is it? NOIICE OF SALE Under and by virtue of the autliori ty con taineu in a certain deed 01 trus executed by J.
