Mr. Jim McGuire, of Plymouth, was in town Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Williams were called to Nashville yesterday on ac count of the death of his uncle, Mr. Williams. They will return home to night after attending the funeral this afternoon. Mr. Conrad Jamieson, of Jamieaon Bros. Construction Co., was here Wed nesday and Thursday. Rev. A. Corey, of Jamesville, was in town Thursday. Messrs. W. C. Manning and B, F. Perry attended the Christian conven tion, which was held in Greenville yes terday. Mr. Bosie Horton, of Plymouth, vis ited friends here this week Mrs. Erah Cobb ia visting friends in Mount Airy. Miss Frances Gurganus will return tomorrow from Plymouth, where she has been doing relief work in the Ply mouth Telephone Exchange. L. T. Fowden spent Wednes day in Ayden. Mr. H. C. James has returned from Asheville, where he spent a few days. Mr. P. F. Apfel spent Wednesday night in the city. Mrs. B. Duke Critcher and little daughter, Rosamond, of Garysburg, visited relatives in the city this week. Mrs. Bettie Pope, Miss Anna, and Mr. J. E. Pope accompanied Mrs. Critcher to her home in Garysburg, where they will spend the week end. Rev. A. J. Manning attended the Christian Convention in GreenviUe yesterday.
