Misses Edna Wood, of LaGrange, Elois* Bowen, of Pembroke, Ga., Miss Mary Reel, of Arapahoe, and Miss Mary Jones, of Grimesland, will be the guests of Misses Martha and Es ther Harrison this week end. The Misses Harrison's guests are all stu dents at Atlantic Christian College, in Wilson. Messrs. Charles Sawyer and Bill Powell, of Windsor, were in town Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. G. W. Hardison and Mrs. Bet tie Pope drove to Rocky Mount yes terday to meet Mrs. Hardison's mother Mrs. Mary E. Peel, who expects to vis it her for some time. Miss Thelma Brown leaves today with Messrs. Bruce Wynne and Fred erick Hoyt for Chapel Hill, where they will spend the week end. Miss Brown will be the guest of Mr. X. T. Keel at the Carolina Inn and will at tend several dances during her visit there. Mrs. E. S. Peel and Mr. W. C. Man ning made a business trip to Ply mouth Wednesday. Mr. Simon Lawrence returned to Raleigh Wednesday after visiting Mrs. Lawrence here for several days at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Manning. He and Mr. Julius S. Peel made the trip to R» leigh by motor. Mr. Julius Purvis arrived yesterday to spend a few days with his sister, Mrs. Leslie Fowden. Mr. Purvis is in the real-eetate business in Asheville but has been in Belhaven for several days visiting Mrs. Purvis, who is with her parents there. Mr. John A. Manning spent yester day in Pinetops. lie was accompanied by his children. Mrs. Carrie Biggs Williams, Misses Frances Williams, Ruth Manning, Elizabeth Gurganus, Susie James, and Mary Melissa Andrews spent yester day afternoon in Washington. Mrs. Marie Carter and Mrs. Robena Dixon were guests for dinner at the Old Mill Inn Wednesday night Mr. C. A. Robertson, of Portsmouth, is visiting his mother, Mrs. J. L. Rob ertson. Mr. Homer Hurst, of Baltknore, spent Sunday and Monday with Mr. and Mrs. James Grist Staton. A Mrs. Staton attended the home com ing day at Old Zion, near Washing ton, Sunday.
