Under and by virtue of the power
of sale contained in that certain deed
of trust executed to the undersigned
trustee by W. A. Hilliard and wife,
Chesley Hilliard, on the 22nd day of
May, 1923, and of record in the pub
lic registry of Martin County, in book
N-2, at page 391, said deed of trust
having been given to secure a certain
note of even date and tenor therewith
and the stipulations therein contained
not having been complied with and at
the request of the holder of said
notes, the undersigned trustee will on
the 22nd day of July, 1926, at 12 o'-
clock m., at the courthouse door of
Martin County, Williamston, N. C.,
offer for sale at public auction to the
highest bidder for cash, the following
described property:
All the right, title, and interest of
the said W. A. Hilliard in and to a
tract of land containing 25 1-4 acres,
more or less, and being the land al
lotted to W. A. Hilliard and E. P.
Williams "in the division between
themselves and Sawny Brown and Eli
jah Griffin, said division and map of
same being of record in book L 1, at
page 268. It is meant to convey by

house door in WilliamHton, Martin
County, sell at public auction to the
highest bidder the following land, to
wit:
Adjoining the lands of Byra Bal
lard on the south and west; the lands
of Charlie Harrington et als on the
north and Roanoke River on the eaßt,
and more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a post in the Hamil
ton and Palmyra Road, corner of the
lands of Byra Ballard and Charlie
Harrington, et als; thence along the
line of Charlie Harrington, et als,
north 50 degrees oast 37 poles to
Roanoke River; thence a southerly
course with said river 13 1-5 poles to
the line of Byra Ballard; thence with
the line of Byra Ballard south 501
degrees west 872 poles to a post in
the Hamilton and Palmyra road; then

This sale is made by reason of the
failure of J. L. Ballard and wife,
Byra Ballard, to pay off and dis
charge the indebtedness secured by

number of qualified voters of HAM
ILTON school district, which was
duly approved by the BOARD OF
EDUCATION of MARTIN COUNTY
and in accordance with the provisions
of Article 17 of the New School Code>
of 1923. , .
NOTICE is hereby given that the
election will be hold in HAMILTON
COURT HOUSE on the 27th of July,
1926, in suid HAMILTON SCHOOL
DISTRICT, which is described here
inafter, for the purpose of ascertain
ing the will of the qualifled voters of
said District as to whether a major
ity of such voters favor the levying
and-collecting, annually, of a Special
Tax with which to supplement the
funds for the six months public school
appropriated by the BOARD OF ED
UCATION, the rate of the Special
Tax not to exceed a maximum of 80
cents ou the SIOO valuation of all
property, real and personal, within
the bounds of the District described
as follows:
