DaGrafs recipe. 1 cup atfted (lour t teaapoona liakin* powder H teaspoon aalt 1 tablespoons shortening H oup milk 1 cup atralned, stewed apricot* Sift dry Ingrudlents together. Rub In shortening then gradually add milk, mixing with a flat knife. Turn on to a sllgntly floured board. Koll out In rectangular ahape about 4 lnohea wide and 8 Inohea long. Cover top of dough with aprloot pure*, then roll up like a Jelly roll. Cut off allcea an Inch thick, and Filace cut aide down In greased bak ng dlah. Bake In a hot oven about 1( minutes Serve with lemon aauoa. Make the lemon sauce by mixing H cup brown sugar % cup whlta sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, juice and grated rind of one lemon, and 1 tablespoon butter Bring to boll, and cook for five minutes. Dumplings and sauoe should be served hot. With Orangmi Another Interesting fruity dessert lot which Mrs OeUraf provides the recipe is Orange Cuatard Pudding. 1 cup atfted bread crumbs W cup milk -"v. 1 cup orange rind I eggs separated H cup sugar Add the grated rind of 1 orange to the Juice. soft bread crumbs. Sift through a coarse strainer. Add milk and orange Juice. Beat eggs separately. Add augar to yolks and then add to the custard. Mix well, then fold In stiffly beaten egg whites Pour In pudding dish. Set dish In a pan of hot water and baka until firm In center, about 10 min utes. In a moderate oven. MO degrees Fahrenheit. Turn Into plate lined with pastry, wet edge Make lattice of pastry strips across top. Baks 44 minutes at IM dsgrees. Serves I.
