tractor farming and the decline In
farm horses of 8,824,000 head from
1920 to 1925 has greatly reduced the
demand for oats. The crop this year
will be only 1,264.000,000 bushels, ac
cording to the latest official estimates,
the Foundation states. Last year the
crop totaled 1,612,000.000 bushels,
while the flve-year average Is only
1,827,000,000 bushels. About 45,945,-
000 acres were devoted to oats this
