Local Rector Heads'Commimtlon A commission of which Rev. Clar ance O. l'Ardo, rector of the Church of the Advent, Williamston, is the \ chairman, has been named by Bishop Darst to organize the diocese for par ticipation in the crusade in coopera- tion with the national commission. Mr. Pardo is now completing plans for the preliminary period of the crusade, which will be inaugurated on St. An drews Day, November 30. On that tlay in every Episcopal Church in this r diocese and throughout the country there will be a continuous prayer serv ice for the success of the crusade, t which will be followed by similar.aerv ices in the various parishes, culmi #'j nating on January 6, when the cru , sade will be formally launched. There , after, during the ensuing two months, 200 leading bishops, priests, and lay j men and women of the church will go f forth to strategic points in groups of twos and threes, and hold meetings, conduct conferences and special serv 'l ices and by other efforts seek to stir the membership to a realization of [ their duties in present-day world con , ditions. ' Branch organizations similar to that in this diocese have been formed in all of the eighty-odd dioceses. Re -1 ports from Washington indicate an enthusiastic reception of the idea of the crusade everywhere. Meanwhile plans are going forward for the fol low-up on the crusade, which, from the point where the 200 leave off, will be carried by other workers into every city and village in the United States.
