Farmville, was in town yesterday.
Mr. Monk is the active member of;
the firm of A. C. Monk & Co., his
partner being Mr. R. L. Davis, one of '
the biggest retail merchants in the
east. Mr. Monk began his career a«
a tobacco man in Williamston, \*here
he bought tobacco for several years.
