EMBROIDERY CLUB
MEETING TUESDAY
The Embroidery Club held its regu
lar meeting with Mrs. G. W. Hardison
on Tuesday afternoon. The pretty
Hassell home was made attractive
with house plants and glowing (ires
and an inviting place with the snow
and ice outside.
Mrs. R. A. Pope was the only spec
ial guest of the hostess, who served
a delicious salad course.
MRS. WATTS HOSTESS TO
TWENTIETH CENTURY CLUB
Mrs. W. B. Watts was a charming
hostess to the Twentieth Century Club
Wednesday afternoon at her home in
New Town.
As soon as the guests and members
of the club arrived Mrs. Watts, assist
ed by her little daughter, Gwen, serv
ed tea, English style and tomato and
lettuce sandwiches.
The meeting was called and a pro
gram rendered on the mineralogy of
North Carolina. Mrs. C. 0. Pardo
read a paper site had prepared on the
"Value and Merits of Minerals of
North Carolina."
Mrs. S. R. Biggs had a reading, and
Mrs. J. G. Gj&iard had prepared in
teresting current events, which she
read.
The hostess, with her little daugh
ter, served ice cream, chocolate cake;
suited nuts, and mints.

joyed dinner party. The invited
