Sebastian Macon, of Rocky Mount, spent the week end with friends in the city. Mr. Henry Hardison, of Rocky Mt., "1 visited his sister, Mrs. J. W. Watts, who continues very ill. Friends of Mr. J. E. Harrison were glad to see him on the Btreets again after escaping serious injury so nar rowly last week when he was run over by 4 wagon. , Mrs. Erah Cobb is spending this week with her sister, Mrs. Atwood Newell, in Louisburg. Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Harrison accom panied their daughter, Mrs. Ralph Parker, to Rocky Mount Sunday. She was en route to her home at Dunn. Solicitor Donnell Gillam, of Tarboro, is attending court h4re this week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim King, of Wash ington, were visitors here last week. The King* are making arrangements to move here, where Mr. King will be ongaged in the tobacco business. Judge R. A. Nunn, of New Bern, arrived yesterday to preside over the March term of Martin County superior court, which lasts two weeks. Miaaa Mary Etheridge Rhea, of Windsor, spent the week end here with Miss Mildred Darden. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Thigpen have moved to the home formely occupied by the family of Mr. R. S. Critcher. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Flannagan, »f Greenville, visited Mrs. J. W. Watts last Sunday. Professors Davis and Phillips spent Saturday in Norfolk, where they vis ited Mrs. W. H. Harrell. Judge Clayton Moore visited his sis ter, Mrs. W. H. Harrell,- in Norfolk, lest Friday.
