Mr. Walter Turnbull, of Richmond, was here Wednesday attending to bus iness matters. Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Saunders spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Collin Barnes in Murfreesboro. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Dunning and daughter, Miss Mary Alice, attended a birthday dinner given Mr. Dunning's brother, Mr. Godwin Dunning, last Sunday at his home in Aulander. Mrs. Lawrence Peel left Wednesday for Suffolk, where she will visit her mother, Mrs. Bullock, who has been ill for several weeks. Miss Ethel Harris left this morning for Washington, where she will under go an operation for removal of ton sils and adenoids. She will be accom panied by her mother, Mrs. W. S. Harris, and sister, Miss Sallie Harris. Chas. Godwin, jr., of Raleigh, was in town yesterday visiting his grand father, Mr. B. F. Godwin. Robert Everett, of Palmyra, was a business visitor here yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. W. Z. Morton and children, of Greenville, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
