Russ, accompanied by Misses Melba, Avalon, and Master Howard, jr., have just returned from a very pleasant trip to Baltimore, where they witnessed the graduation of their daughter, Zelma, at Peabody Conservatory of Music. Miss Zelma has accepted a position with the Radcliffe Chautauqua, popu lar throughout the United States, whose headquarters are a,t Washing ton, D. C., where she will enter the 1 service prior to their annual tour. This came as a surprise to Miss Russ. The chautauqua authorities were seeking a soprano, and she was especially recommended by the fat- j ulty of the conservatory, and she ac- j cepted the position. The chaUtauqua vill tour the northern section of the| United States, principally around the Grsat Lakes.
