Mrs. E. F. Walker, of Sarasota,
Fia., is visiting her sister, Mrs. L C.
Roberson. She and Mr. Walker will
visit relatives here and in Norfolk
until October, when they will return
to Florida.
Mrs. Tom Jarvis and children, who
ore visiting Mrs. Warren Biggs, will
leave Saturday for Wilson, where
they will make their home in the fu
ture. v
E. (9. Anderson, of Greenville, has
been in town on business this week.
Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Saunders car
ried their youngest son, Jack Baker,
to Washington Wednesday and had
his tonsils removed at a Washington
hospital. They returned yesterday,
and the little boy is getting along
very nicely.
Miss Mary Fletchei, of Belhaven, is
visiting Miss Estelle Crawford.
Frank Margolis, with a party of
friends, is touring in the western part
of the State for a few days.
Captain ami Mrs. Dan Fowle, who
formerly lived in Washington but who
are now making their home at one
of the United States i/Army posts in
Minnesota, spent Wednesday night in
town with Mr. and Mrs. K. B. Craw
ford. Mrs. Fowle is remembered here
i>s Miss Helen Moore, having visited
here quite often during her girlhood.
Mr. and Mrs. James C. Manning
left Wednesday for Chapel Hill, where

pleting their work in the first term
of the summer school. They will
then return here for the rest of the
summer.
Miss Mary King Ellison, of Bel
haven is visiting friends and relatives
in town.
Kev. B. Duke Critcher, of Whitak
e'r.s, has joined his family here, where
they will stay until tomorrow and re
turn to their home.
Mrs. Martha Hardison, of Rocky
Mount, is visiting her daughter, Mrs.
A. Anderson, for some time.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parker, of
Dunn, arrived Wednesday to upend 10
days with Mrs. Parker's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. T. F. Harrison.

Mr. Quinn, chief road man of the
Ford Motor Co., was here fc»r a few
minutes yesterday. Mr. (juinn made
no statement relative to the expected
new Fords.
Presidential elections are an old
story to the Majestic Range, accord
ing to B. S. Courtney, who is holding
a special exhibit of these well-known
ranges at his store all next week. He
says there are Majesties in homes in
this county that have gone through
five national elections and are still
giving good service. Ten presidential
terms have passed since the first of
these famous ranges was manufact
ured. The exhibit of new model Ma
jesties at B. S. Courtney's furniture
store is well worth a visit. A fine
set of cooking utensils—the choice of
two sets —is being given away free
with every Majestic purchased during
the week.
