PHONE Anything for This Dcpartmaat T* 46 MANNING-ADAMS Pretty Wedding in Four Oaks Wednesday A wedding or marked charm and beauty was that of Miss Sallie Adams and Mr. William C. Manning jr., solemnized at eight o'clock at the Four Oaks Methodist Episcopal Church Wednesday evening. The church was decorated beautifully and was a pretty setting for the occasion. Long leaf pine, smilax, and ferns were used for the back ground, against which were used white asters, lilies, and swansonia. Tapers on both sides of the church and arranged effectually in four tall candlelebra back of the altar rail shed - a soft glow over the whole church, completing the setting. A program of wedding music was rendered prior to the entrance of the bridal party by Miss Mildred Yar boro, of Spring Hope, pianist, and Mrs. Roy Johnson, who sang "For Your Sake," and "O Perfect Love." Traumerie was played softly during the ceremony. Messrs. James C. Manning and Milton J. Moye, ushers, were first to enter. Then came the dames of honor, Mrs. J. C. Manning and Mrs. R. C. Oanady; Mrs. Manning dressed in orchid georgette with sil ver trimming and carrying a bou quet of pink roses and asters. Mrs. Canady wore pink georgette trimmed with silk lace and also carried an arm bouquet of roses and asters. The groomsmen, C. 1). Carstar phen, jr., and Francis Barnes, were followed by the bridesmaids, Miss Margaret Manning, sister of the groom, and Miss Essie Jordan, of Creswcll. They both wore light blue georgette dresses with panels of sil ver lase trimming and carried bou quets of old-fashioned garden ilow |ers. Next came Miss Oma Adams, youngest sister of the bride, who was maid of honor. She wore a green chiffon and silk lace creation and carried pink roses. After her came little Miss Charlotte Debnam, cou sin of the bride, of Raleigh, as flower girl. She was lovely in a pink geor gette dress with flower and ribbon trimming. Meeting her at the altar was little Leon Adams, jr., another cousin of the bride, who was ring bearer. He was attractive in a white satin suit. Following her flower girl, tame the bride with her brother, Thomas Adams, who gave her in marriage, and joined the groom, who was waiting at the altar with.his best man, his brother, Francis M. Man ning. The bride was lovely in her wed ding gown of white satin, trimmed with real lace and pearls, made bouf fant style. Her veil and train were of embroidered lase caught in at tractive fashion around her face with orange blossoms. The bridal bou quet was of bride's roses and lilies of the valley. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. G. T. Adams, cousin of the bride, of San ford, as sisted by Rev. E. D. I)odd, of Four Oaks. Following the ceremony an infop THE ENTERPRISE WI LLJA'AiSTON, N. C mal reception was given at the lovely | country home of the bride, by her mother, Mrs. B. Adams. The re ceiving line was composed of the bridal party, the bride's mother, and Mr. and Mrs. W. . Manning, par ents of the groom. Punch was served on the front porch and after tht guests had met the bridal party and been shown into the gift room by Mrs. Brewer, of Raleigh, they wen served cream in bridal slipper molds, with green iced heart-shaped cakes and favors by Miss Margaret Strickland and Miss Margaret Brewer, of Raleigh. After the reception, Mr, and Mrs. Manning left by motor for a few days' trip. She is one of the most beloved young women of her section, being a great worker in both the church and social life of Johnston County. Her lovely char acter and personality has endeared her to a host of friends in that sec tion who regret her departure. She graduated in music from Atlantic- Christian College and has taken post graduate work at the University. She will l>e a great addition to the musi cal life of the town. Mr. Manning is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Manning, and h$ too, graduated from Atlantic Chris tian College the same year as his bride. He is business manager of The Enterprise, and is a young man very popular in his home town, where he has decided to make his home. Visiting in Kinston Mrs. Hubert Morton and children are spending a week in Kinston with Mrs. Morton's mother, Mrs. J. B. Haskitt. Attend Manning-Adams Wedding Mr. and Mrs. John A. Manning, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Anderson, and Mrs. Edgar Pascoe, of Tampa, Fla., attended the Manning-Adams wed ding Wednesday night. Leaves for Nicaragua * Mrs. C. H. Yost, who has been •with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Gano, has left for Nica ragua, where she will join her hus band, Lieut. Yost, who is stationed there with the Marines. S. D.
