ROBfRSONVILLE
SCHOOL NOTES
New-Building Project
Of chief concern now to those in
terested in the growth of the school is
the fact that there is a great need of
more available room for classrooms.
Many of the grades are filled to ca
pacity, and class work is being con
ducted in the balcony of the auditor
ium, Such being the case, the offic
ials have seen fit to launch a build
ing project looking toward the erec
tion of a ten-room high-school struc
ture. Such will, it seems, be success
ful. The location and the style of
building, however, have not been de
termined.
What Graduates Are Doing
It is always interesting to know just
what the seniors of a previous year
are doing. Investigation shows that
many of the class of '27 are in a
higher institution. Four are at home
and one has "committed matrimony."
Their addresses are:
William Everett, Massey's Business
College, Richmond, Va.; Edward
Gribes, Everetts; Harry H. Roberson,
Robersonville; Thurston
Weaver, University of North Carolina,
Chapel Hill; Staton Williams, Duke
University, Durham; John W. Wynne,
Commercial Business College, Green
ville; Glenn Norman and Irving Ma
son, Mars Hill College, Mars Hill;
Mrs. C. D. Lamm (Annabel Grimes),
Durham; Bessie Morris, Business Col
lege, Norfolk, Va.; Carrie Lee Rober
son, Cullowhee State Normal, Cullo
whee; Frences House. Margaret Ross,
and Hattie Ross, East Carolina Teach
er's College, Greenville; Louise Smith
and Millie Williams, Robersonville;
Mamie Mobley, Everetts.
Try Thi« on Your New Perfection
Strange and startling is some of the
information in test papers. Perhaps
the most unusual is that received oir
a recent home .economics test. Could
you comfortably use this information:
"To prevent some food from spoiling,
you can boil several minutes"? *
Typewriting Course Popular
m
The practical value of the typewrit
ing course has been a great incentive
in building up a good-sized class.
Thirty young girls and buys are tak
ing instruction in "the. work under Pro
fessor Leake.
Playing Ayden Today »
Kobersonville is playing its second
football game of the season with Ay
den at Kobersonville this afternoon.
Last Friday the kobersonville lads
held the strong Plymouth eleven to a
scoreless tie, and they are slated to
make a creditable showing with Ay
den this afternoon.
"Setting Hen" Cause of
Loss in Egg Production
The longer a broody lien is allowed
to sit on the nest the longer it re
quires to get her hack into laying con
dition, and consequently the greater
the loss in egg production. To break
the hen from sitting put her in a
broody .coop, where she can be -prop-
