A contract has been entered into between the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of Williamston and the Virginia Elec
tric and Power Company, in which all parties agree to do certain definite things. The sale of the electric distribution system

ston before a final disposition of the power matter can be made.

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners of Williamston have agreed, subject to the approval of a majority of the qualified

voters of Williamston, to sell to the Virginia Electric and Power Company its entire electric distribution system for the sum of
$75,000.00 cash. This sum will enable Williamston to reduce its bonded indebtedness.

FRANCHISE FOR 30 YEARS
Williamston has agreed to grant to the Virginia Electric and Power Company a thirty-year franchise to do a retail light
and power business in Williamston.

$75,000.00 CASH FOR WILLIAMSTON "
The Virginia Electric and Power Company has agreed to pay Williamston the sum of $75,000.00 for its complete electric
distribution system. The power plant site, power plant building, and power generating equipment, now owned by William
ston, will not be included in the sale of the electric distribution system to the Virginia Electric and Power Company.
' - • LOWRATES-THE COMPANY'S BEST
The Virginia Electric and Power Company has agreed to make effective fn Williamston its standard rates for light and
power service to all customers. Williamston will have the same light and power rates which are now enjoyed by the cities the
size of Richmond and Norfolk, Virginia. These standard rates will create an actual saving, to all customers in Williamston, on

SERVICE TO BE MADE PROMPTLY
, The Virginia Electric and Power Company has agreed to build power transmission lines, and make available in the quickest

WILLIAMSTON TO SELL TO EVERETTS -

The Virginia Electric and Power Company has agreed to allow Williamston to resell a supply of unlimited industrial
power to the Town of Everetts. The payment by Everetts for this power will also- pay for the present street lights and water
pumping power in Williamston.
