CHANGE POLICY
AT WAKE FOREST
Will Now Accept Graduates
Of High Schools With
out Condition
Wake Forest, Jan. 24. —A tradition
of 95 yean standing went by the
board today at Wake Forest College'
when its faculty authorised that the
sole basis for unconditional entrance
next session be simply that of grata-f
at ion from a state-accredited high
school rnd that its new catalogue be
modified accordingly.
While the policy of this institution j
in previous years was to admit all
graduates of accredited high schools,;
it nevertheless penalised upon en- 1
trance those who presented only two
units of foreign language by re
quiring that additional foreign lan
guage be pursued without credit to
ward degrees, thus handicapping a
majority of its students who camf
from small high schools. In Septem-j
ber of this year foreign languages re
quired to Wake Forest will be pre
cisely that required for graduation
from high school; namely, two units (
of either Latin or French.
