Macon surgeon, today told a dratmtic story of the death throes of a chicken hawk whose wing spread was five uet and nine inches. Dr. Keen shot the bird while on a hunting trip and it hurtled to the f/bund. Thinking it dead he touched it. whereupon its talons closed around his wrist in a vine so strong tha; he could not release their grip. Finally, one of the hunters cut off the hawk's legs, and Dr. Keen wai then able to free himself. Though Avery County farmers sold 1000 fat turkeys for the Thanksgiving tiade.they are holding the bulk of the birds for better prices and greater poundage.
