Miscellaneous Shower
A social event of unusual interest
was a miscellaneous bridge shower
given at the apartment of Mrs. G. L.
Andrews on Monday night, honoring
Mrs. J. I). Page, a bride of Septem
ber. After the guests ascended the
ivy and ribbon-covered stairway they
THE
found their places by place cards.
The table of the honoree was ar
ranged with a large wedding bell
hanging above with tapering crepe
paper. After each guest was placed,
the hostess, assisted by guests not
playing, served a sweet course. Just
before progressions began, Miss Lu
cille Cox was faintly heard singing
"The Sweetest Story Ever Told," as
she came up the stairway to stand
beside the bride. At that time, as
the guests' attention was on the
honor guest, little Grace and Wal
lace Roberson, twins of Mr. and Mrs.
O. P. Roberson, dressed as a bride
and groom, presented Mrs. Page with
two daintily arranged boxes topped
with a miniature bride and groom.
The shower being a complete surprise
to the bride gave an intense inter
t est to the guests.
After adding the six progressions,
| Mjss Magalene Everette was pre
sented with an odd piece of pottery
for high score and Mrs. J. E. Ward
received a smaller piece for consola
tion. The honoree was also remem- 1
bered with an attractive Madiera set.
