Staton, of Bethel, was a visitor in town yesterday after noon. « * Miscellaneous Shower A social event of unusual interest was a miscellaneous bridge shower given at the apartment of Mrs. G. L. Andrews on Monday night, honoring Mrs. J. I). Page, a bride of Septem ber. After the guests ascended the ivy and ribbon-covered stairway they THE found their places by place cards. The table of the honoree was ar ranged with a large wedding bell hanging above with tapering crepe paper. After each guest was placed, the hostess, assisted by guests not playing, served a sweet course. Just before progressions began, Miss Lu cille Cox was faintly heard singing "The Sweetest Story Ever Told," as she came up the stairway to stand beside the bride. At that time, as the guests' attention was on the honor guest, little Grace and Wal lace Roberson, twins of Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Roberson, dressed as a bride and groom, presented Mrs. Page with two daintily arranged boxes topped with a miniature bride and groom. The shower being a complete surprise to the bride gave an intense inter t est to the guests. After adding the six progressions, | Mjss Magalene Everette was pre sented with an odd piece of pottery for high score and Mrs. J. E. Ward received a smaller piece for consola tion.
