This is not a profes sional evangelistic meeting It is an endeavor to pool all the religious forces and influences of the com munity into a city-wide effort to reach the unsaved and to provide an opportunity for the Christian people of Williamston and Martin County to forget the creedal and denominational lines that ordinar ily separate them and to come to gether as Christian brothers, to en joy the fellowship one of the other and of our Common I-ord and Sav iour, Jesus Christ. Mt? YOU BOBBING GODT A tired, weary, ud dusty trav eler stopped ot the door of A home oa the edge of town. The food man of the house answered his knock. The traveler asked far bread. The kind-hearted home owner told him he had hut 7 loaves In the house and that it was late Saturday night, the stores would be closed until Monday morn inf. and that his children would need somethinf to eat until then. He figured, however, that one loaf would meet his needs until Monday, and very generously gave the traveler six of the seven loaves. The traveler thanked him and went on his way. After hav _ ing walked down the road a ways the traveler turned round and made his way bask to the good man's home. While every one was asleep he entered the home and stole the other loaf. What is your opiuion of such a man? Without hesitation, all of us would brand and condemn him as a thief and a robber And rightly so. In like manner God, in His wisdom, saw fit to set the bounds of time within a circle of seven days. He created man and out of the goodness of His loving heart said to the man of His creation, "1 have but seven days. Your needs are greater than mine. By the sweat of your brow you must earn your livelihood. Six of these days 1 will give unto you. In them thou shalt labor and do all thy work. But the Seventh Day is mine. I need it for my work." For many years mankind was grateful, but, like the traveler, after having walked down the sinful and dusty road of history mankind, many times appearing as a wolf in sheep's clothing, and often flying the colors of false charity, has robbed God of the day which He reserved unto himself. We were i^iick to agree that the traveler was a thief and a robber. Does not the same con demnation rest upon the man who breaks the f ourth Com mandment? Search the Scrip tures and see. Go to church Sunday. Spend the day in rest, in worship, in prayer and in doing good. Moisture Necessary To (growth of Grass Moisture is the chief essential to good growth of carpet grass and, while this grass will form a sod more quickly on a good seed bed, it will eventually make a good sod on poor soil with next to no prep aration provided there is enough moisture. Many good carpet grass pastures have been started by sim METHODIST The following services are an nounced at the local Methodist church Sunday: Sunday school, 9:45. Preaching at 11 o'clock. If your loyalty should be typical of each member of your church, how long would it be before you could say that your church is carrying out Jesus' pro gram? ly burning over the bottom land and sowing the seed. The ideal seed bed, however, is one that is thoroughly pulverized to a depth of three inches and undisturbed be low that depth. Plowing, there fore, should be avoided unless done about six to eight weeks before sowing the seed. NOTICE OF SERVICE HY PUBLICATION North Carolina, Martin County I.. II.
