The appearance of the post office has been very much brightened this week by cleaning the windows. It is hoped that the postmaster will now place a desk, pen and ink in a suit able place for the use of the pub lic. At a meeting of the citizens held Wednesday in the office of the Roan oke Hotel, about $7,000 was sub scribed to build and establish a To bacco Market for Williams ton It is expected that $10,000 will be raised by Monday night, when the subscrib ers will meet and organize. The meeting was an enthusiastic one and well attended. There does not seem to be any doubt as to the success of the undertaking. Mr. J. H. Everett spent Sunday in Everett?. Mr. S.
