The automobile accident rec ord in this county last week-end was something terrible to write home about. Two lives were snuffed out in the twinkle of an eye. and those of at least two others were threatened when man-made machines plunged through the night at fast speeds. Although the year is just a lit tle over three-fourths spent, the death toll already equals that for all of 1940, and the property damage is almost two and one half times greater than it was up until the corresponding period, a year ago. Those of us who would value human life so much when the country calls in the name of de fense. would do well to place some value on human life when it is exposed on the highways. The following tabulations of fer a comparison of the accident trend: first, by corresponding weeks in this year and last and for each year to the present time. 41st Week Comparison Accidents Inj'd Killed Dam'ge 1941 3 2 2 $ 1,000 1940 2 1 0 50 Comparison To Date 1941 74 47 5 $20,030 1940 72 44 3 8,655 Happenings In The Farm Life School I By .MARTHA ROBERSON The Parent-Teacher Association I will hold its first meeting of the | year tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30 p. m P.
