We Are Thankful
... Thai we're alive and doing well. We are thankful lhal
out of our skies this morning will fall hut rain or snow.
We are thankful that no hig guns will fire at us, nor bonihs
drop upon us during our dinner hour, and that the only
battling that will he done in America today will he done
by the football players on our gridirons.
We are thankful that we can walk down the street and
cuss the condition of our country, the attitude of the Pres
ident, the Governor, or anybody else .. without being jail
ed or lined up before-ty firing squad.
We arc thankful that most of us will oat turkey with some
gusto and pleasure ... instead of rations of horse meat
and dark bread doled out hy none-too-liheral authori
ties.
We're thankful thai we all can ?;o to our churches. our
tabernacles, our synagogues, our cathedrals, ami offer up
our lhaukH with deep reverence in our hearts . . . ami uo
fear . . . ami that most of our families will he together.
Then, too, we're thankful that we can pursue our daily
hahits. can scratch for a living, can en jo\ ourselves or ey
ed worry ... if we like .. . ami can do just ahoul w hat we
are hig enough to do.
Ami those of us listed hclow are thankful that during the
year wc have been favored with votir patronage ami eon
sideration.
So. folks, let's all he tluuikful; for. in lael. we still have
plenty for which to he thankful.
