announced by Headquarters, Carib
’ bean Division, Air Transport Com
mand, USAAF.
Sergeant Nicholson entered the
service September 8, 1942, complet
ing the airplane mechanics course at
Seymour Johnson Field, N. C. Subse
quently he served at Truax Field,
Wis., Presque Isle, Maine, and his
present duty is that of airplane and
engine mechanic at a Caribbean Di
vision, Air Transport Command Base
outside of the United States. His par
ents, Joseph F. and Nannie Nichol
son, reside at RFD 3, Williamston.

Miss Thelma Chase served her sis
ter as maid of honor. Best man was

Mrs. Carson is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Butler Chase ol Fre
mont. She is a graduate of the
business department of Elon College
and has been employed by the Con
tinental Life Insurance Company.
Staff Sergeant Carson is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. O. G. Carson of
Jamesville. He was a student at
Elon College at the time of his in
duction into the Army. He return
ed a short time ago from the South
Pacific where he served for fourteen
months.
