The living room was beautifully decorated with red roses and white lilies. Miss Lilley will be married on May 30th, 1945. A delicious sweet course, consist ing of pink and green bridal cakes, peanuts and ice cream were served ! to the guests. Attractive nosegays were on each plate. The hostesses presented the bride i elect with china in her chosen pat tern. The bride-elect was dressed in a summer black crepe dress and her corsage was of pink roses. Miss Mamie Clyde Taylor received j the high score prize for bridge, while Mrs. J. B. Barnhill, .Jr,, was low score winner. Little Misses Jane Gray Biggs and Betty Fagan Carstarphen presented the guests with the tallies. Miss Roebuck, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Roebuck, also made the first semester honor roll. She was tin- only one in the junior class who acquired this honor. Visit Here Last Week-end Lt. Visiting in Asheville Miss Pauline Buckner, manager of the local Western Union office, is spending a few days at her home in Asheville. Britton, notified his wife, the former Miss Doris Peel, of Williamston, of his safe arrival in France. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Cherry a son in the local hospital Saturday, April 21. Robert L. Bryant of near Hamil ton entered the local hospital for treatment last week-end. Gelsinger were given a real housewarming Sunday after noon, the event marking a new high peak in genuine friendliness and neighborliness More than two hundred neighbors and other friends from the commun ity, Washington and Williamston, visited there between 3 and 5 o’clock that afternoon, carrying valuable and useful gifts for the home. Light refreshments, including iced drinks and sandwiches, were served. A song program, lasting for almost an hour and with everyone joining in, was greatly enjoyed. -- In Ayden Last Week-end Mr. and Mrs. Henry Harrington and son spent last week-end in Ay den with relatives.
