Now Living In Plymouth Mrs. Elmo Lang, for several years secretary in the local Farm Security office, resigned recently and is now making her home in Plymouth. Spending Holidays at Home Miss Anna Bell Privott, local teacher, left Friday afternoon for her home in Edenton where she will spend the holidays. Visiting In Washington Miss Marv Ross, teacher in the local schools, left Friday after noon to spend the holidays with relatives in Washington. -* Officers Wreck Large Still Near Willianiston Raiding just off the old Green ville road near Williamston last Thursday afternoon, Officers J. II. Roebuck, Roy Peel and Ed mond Early captured a 200-gallon capacity tin still and poured out about 100 gallons of molasses beer. The still, operated without fer menters, was one of the largest taken in this section in some time. Miss Martin, who has held the post since 1937, has been succeeded by Mrs. Jane Hamilton Macauley. (Internationa!) Children Flock To Youth Center Since the formal opening of the Youth Recreation Center on Oc tober 11, the average week-end attendance has been over 200 teen-agers according to a report issued by the director, Mrs. George Corey. During October a special Hal lowe'en Costume ball was given at which time the girl with the prettiest costume received a prize donated by Belk-Tyler's. The attendance hit an all time high on November 11, Sadie Haw kins day. A Sadie Hawkins’ race was held on Watts street after which a mock wedding of Lena the Hyena, and the winner- (los er) was held. Following the Williamston-Ply mouth football game, “Welcome j Plymouth’’ night was observed at the center with over 50 visitors present. On Thanksgiving night a group of teen-agers sang Thanksgiving hymns to several persons in town who had given financially to the j center and to those who helped in i other ways. An organization of the teen-ag- \ ers has been perfected. Officers j i l > cil has been formed and a consti tution has been drawn up. This youth council will serve as a gov erning body for the center and will work with the adult plan ning committee in mapping out the future programs. For special parties refresh ments have been furnished by the adult refreshment committee. On ■regular nights, usually there have been cold drinks and nabs for sale. The teen-agers have decorated the center on the special occas i ions, Hallowe’en, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Long Holiday For The SES Office ->.
