that I would like to come to the
States with my parents. I think it
is wonderful that you will help
us to emigrate to the States, but
there are 2 points I like to ask
about:
"1. I am studying as an architect
and in June 1 finish my practical
work. Then I have to go to a car
penter another half year and after
that to an architect in the office.
After I went through all this I can
go to a builder-high school for
2 1-2 years. So would yon please
inquire how- that could be done in
the States and how much it would
be to go in such a school over
there. For us young people it is
very hard to get on, as the schools
are frequented.
"2. The imigration papers and
the tickets. As far as I know has
the tickets to be paid in the
States, well we cannot do any
thing here with our money. You
said we could live with you till
we find an apartment, I would
build us a brick-house I can do
that all myself.
“Dear Mrs. Hoell I would be so
grateful if you would write us
more detail what we have to do to
emigrate to the States. I guess
only you can do something to send
the papers, here we cannot do
anything before we get the Affi
davit from.
“Soon it is Easter and I make a
trip to Aaien to play football
games. I am so anxious what the
Easter-bunny will bring me? I
hardly can wait. 1 know it will
not be much.

The regular dinner meeting of
the local Lions Club was held at
Cnim <ey Corner Inn. where the
members gathered last Thursday
evening to discuss various items
and to enjoy a delicious fried
chicken dinner. Invocation was
pronounced by Lion H. P. Mobley.
Following the dinner. Lion D.
V. Clayton was presented with a
"Past Treasurer” lapel button 'by
President Worrell. Lion Clayton
recently completed six years of
faithful service as treasurer of the
local Lions club.
Following a suggestion by Lion
Hack Gaylord, chairman of the
Civic Improvement Committee, it
was moved, seconded and a vote
taken favoring the club’s sponsor
ship of a project to provide more
parking space for shoppers near
the business section of town. Ar
rangements are being made to
have the vacant lot adjacent to the
local Christian Church on South ;
Smithwick street cleared and
pai king spaces provided. This
project is to receive immediate at
tention. It was pointed out by
Mr. C. J. Brady, a guest of the
club, that there is considerable
parking space at the rear of the
hotel th3t can be used for parking
during the day. Mr. Brady is man

Gurganus revealed that the club’s
share of the receipts for the per
iod ending recently amounted to
only $39.00. Lion Gurganus urg
ed all members of this committee
to work hard towards the servic
ing of these machines.
Considerable discussion was
centered around the project of ac
cepting donations of one dollar
on the local scout hut fund, the
donation entitling the donor to a
chance on a 1947 Buick sedan and
two other prizes that are to be
given away during September. It
was pointed out by Lion Clarence
Griffin that it was his opinion that
this was in the same category as
similar projects that have been
carried out by other clubs in the
state. It was moved, seconded
