Hundred Tailor-Made
Bins For Paris
Modern business requires a lot
of planning and a lot of material
things, and the automobile busi
ness possibly leads the list with
its whimsical and exacting de
mands.
With this in mind, the owners of
the Roanoke Chevrolet Company
set out some months ago to build
a garage that would meet those
i demands and needs. In addition
to the installation of thousands
of bins m steel eases and tables,
fjie company tailor-made hun
dreds of compartments for special
parts Ordinarily' one would think
n mparatively little space would
be necessary foi automobile
springs. But to offer the best ser
vice, the company had construct
ed lifty compartments for springs
alon A ten-year-old model with
^ spin.g trouble could be fitted up
from the supply and repaired
without delay. The samel condi
tion surrounds glass for ears, the
company carrying at least fifty
pieces on hand in as many com
partments.
I hen there are compartments
lor parts ranging from a tiny bolt
or nut on up to large tenders.
There is no doubt about it. but the
parts man has something to keep
up with. But all the little gadgets
aie in numbered locations and can
be readily found.
Most of the small parts are ear
ned on the ground floor, but the
laigei parts are earned in the
hulk storage on the second floor.
It lsn t enough to have one steer
ing Wheel or some other individ
ual pajt. Theie must be a steering
• wheel for this model and that
model, the company making it
-i policy, as far as it is humanly
puss, hie to do so. to keep parts
available for all models dating
back ten years or more.
1 hi parts business is a big prob
lem, but the Roanoke Chevrolet
has and continues to work to solve
Hie problem to the advantage of
their patrons.
