Coach Jean DeWitt of the girls' team used 11 players against the visitors and their play indicated a strong sextet may be developed as the season progresses. Coach Carroll Blaekerby used 10 boys in various positions in an effort to work out a combination under pressure. Prospects for the Wil liamston boys were considered to be good, also. Although the Williamston girls were ahead at the end oi every quarter of play, the score was close most of the way. The wid est Williamston margin in the first half came in the first minute of the second quarter when the score reached 8 3 but the widest muighi ot the game was midway the final period when the Green Wave girls held a 13-12 lead. The Elizabeth City girls proved excellent shots from the foul line as they made five out of 7 tries while Williamston could get only 3 out of Hi. Williamston was in front 4-3 at the first quarter, 9-G at the half, 14-12 at the three quarter mark. It was largely a defensive game with Williarns ton's team, new except for two oi three players, showed some hesitancy in shooting. Scoring for Williamston were: Donnette Bailey 10, Sarah Everett 5, Dolly Wynne 4, Ann Raynor 1, Edna Mi.olio 1. Starters were Bailey, Everett and Dolly Wynne J ,it forwards, Wanda Jones, Pris cilla Roberson and Jean Ward Mobley at guard.
