o’clock in the morning.
Using the double-ring cere
mony, the Rev. Preston Cayton ol
Edenton heard the vows. Flooi
baskets of white gladioli, lighted
tapers in branched candelabra
and a background of palms, smi
lax, and fern decorated the
church.
The bride is the daughter of Mr,
and Mrs Eli Hoyt Roberson, Sr.
of Washington, route three, and
Mr. Everett is the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. James Robert Ever
ett.
Mrs. J. R. P. Griffin, pianist
presented a program of wedding
music using traditional marches
for the processional and recession
al Evan Griffin, soloist, sang "G
Promise Me" and “The Lord's
Prayer."
The bride, escorted by her lath
er who gave her in marriage, wore
a wedding gown of nylon lace and
illusion over white bridal satin.
The bouffant ballerina skirt was
of nylon net with lace inset near
the hemline. The fitted bodice
was of lace, styled with a small
pointed collar, long sleeves ux
tending into petal points, and but
toned by tiny satin buttons. Her
Halo bonnet had a small flared
lace brim outlined with seed
pearls. Her tiered veil was of il
lusion. She carried a nosegay of
white carnations and pom-pons
centered with a white purple tip
ped orchid.
Miss Lane Robet.son was her sis
ter's maid of honor She wore a
purple nylon net gown made over
matching taffeta. The strapless
bodice was worn with a brief bo
lero in tucked design. The fuil
skirt was fashioned with cords of
purple satin. A purple net ban
deau, white, gloves and purple
'slippers complimented her cos
i tume and she carried a nosegay
I of yellow, purple and pink pom
pons and carnations tied with pink
I satin.
Roland Everett of Williamston
served his brother as best man
and ushers were J. O. Manning,
Jr* and Horace Ray, both of Wil
liamston. brothers-in-law of thr
bridegroom, Eli Hoyt Roberson,
Jr and James VV. Roberson,
brothers of the bride.
Mrs. Roberson wore a black Bo
tany suit, using black accessories
and a lavender orchid corsage.
Mrs. Horace Ray, the bride
groom's sister, wore a Wedgewood
blue dress with brown accessories
and a iavcndai orchid.
The couple left for a wedding
trip to New York, The bride wore
I a navy blue suit, wheat colored
: poodle cloth coat, wheat acces
| sories'and the white orchid from
her wedding bouquet.
The bride was graduated from
Meredith College in Raleigh and
