The old family hearthstone Thanksgiving Day Is commonly the hotel steam radiator. It is easier to be truly thankful; Thanksgiving Day if you don't look , at your bill for the turkey. I Search warrants not sufficient to locate all the illegal liquor. 'Twould take a stomach pump to get a lot of it. The office seekers can't usually get Jobs on their showing for effi ciency, but perhaps they can demon strate that they need public charity. People who charge so high for lit tle repair Jobs, seem to want to en courage people to do their own tinkering. Farmers complain that they and their farm animals are hit by stray shots from hunters. But they must remember that game is scarce and the hunter must have sport. When Congress is not in session there is an imperative demand that it meet and do something, and when it is in session there is a loud holler for it to quit talking and go home. The people who offer thanks on Thanksgiving. Day, are not as num erous as they should be, but they'll remember the Lord all right when they get sick. Building material people who ask extortionate prices, seem to think that the erection of dwellings is a bad thing for the country and should be discouraged. IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS. Many cities and towns take up noniclpal planning projects in a spas modic way, but after accomplishing e few good things the enthusiasm d.es cut. Every city should have its planning board as a permanent de partment of its municipal organiza tion. Public citizens should usually be willing to serve on such a board without salary, but of course en gineering and clerical work must be paid for if required. Among the projects that should be taken up in most places, is some per-, manent improvement in real estate lying along' railroad tracks. In most 1 cities, on entering by railroad, youi are greeted with a most depressing array of pigpens, chicken coops, turn-1 ble down outhouses, and general chaos and disorder. The land along the railroad line is the city's front yard,-. - . , ;2,: Has vYoisir Ptoomqg .These Impvemeants1 Exclusive C&binCt DcsififnS e handsome straightline cabinets are always in perfect harmony with modern furniture.
