PUPILS HEAR MR. LAPSLEY .
Rev. R. A. Lapsley, jr., was the
speaker at the city school chapel ex
.'lcises this morning. He selected
"Obedience"' for his subject and bas
. d his talk on the scrilural account
of Paul's unfailing adherence to this
duty. Mr. Lapsley told the pupils
.hut they could not learn a more
valuable lesson than that of obedi
ice. He made his point clear and
jmpha'.ic by several striking illus
trations from history. The Duke of
Wellington's high regard for this
irtue was graphically portray. ! i:i
i story and the Charge of the Light
Brigade was given as the highest ex
ample of unquestioning obedience.
The heroic Haveloch 'was quoted as
laying .with his last breath that the
treat.'st lesson he ever learned was
.hat if obeying orders.
"Learn to obey your parents, your
.eachers, your government, and your
Jod," declared Mr. Lapsley, "and
:ou will have mastered the supreme
esson and become qualified to com
nand others."
