R., under whose aus pices will be staged Hoop-La, a new departure in modern minstrelsy, Jan. 12, 1922. This 1921-22 model entertainment is composed of entirely new and ori ginal music, dances and comedy and is really a pocket edition of the New York Hippodrome, in that the enter tainment caters to every class of the amusement loving public. Tho entertainment gels away from the old style first part, the scene being laid aboard the ship Hoop La, where -the officers and crew are en tertaining King Poo Poo and the royal family. The pick of male voices of Tarboro will be heard in this num ber and a scries of solo, duo and chorus dancing will share honors with vocal numbers and the first part finale is a sure fire climax, fea turing tho king's wild women danc ers who with the king and queen take the first curtain of the performance. The Olio is composed of "A Study in Black and White" a statuary act; "Rag Time Wedding," a comedy darky jazz wedding set to music with dancing thruout; "A Great Big Boquet." a very pretty and graceful chorus singing and dancing act; "Bamham & Bailed Hay Circus," depicting the "front door" of a bur lesque side show, and "The Death of Saloon," a classic chorus dancing number, closing with a burlesque on ths Salome Dance and the Dance of the Seven Veils. An experienced minstrel man will stage the production and special sce nery nnd costumes will be supplied by the John B. Rogers Producing Co. rehearsals will begin Thursday, Dec. 23, and we have no hesitancy in saying Hoop La will be the great est of its kind ever staged by ama teurs in Tarboro. of the land formerly owned by said Alice H.
