Norfolk and Portsmouth, the
twin cities are most interesting
places. They are lioth rlosely
associated with the early history
of the Nation. It was early
in the eighteenth century,

founded. The visitor there
finds specimens of colonial ar

modern of business strut -hires,
nagnificent dwellings and el
egant churches. It is one
of the railroad centers of the
country, as well as one of
the principal seaHM-ts of the
Atlantic (oast. Together
with Portsmouth it forms an
objective point, for the At

ELIZABETH CITY IS ONE OF THE MOST
LOGICAL PLACES FOR INDUSTRIAL PLANTS
ALONG THE ATLANTIC SEABOARD
A large number of small factories are now in successful operation-they are
mostly all home capital and the great war did not curtail the regular quota
of laborers. The cost of operation is small and the products' manufactured
are always in demand. A great percentage of these plants are being pulled
