However, it is too late for a fair uow, and we do not mean to Waste time in recrimination. We be lieve that it Is the full purpose ot the fair assoc ation, an account ot the organization of which was pub lished in this paper, to have a fair, next fall. What the Advance wishes to say Is that the time to begin preparations for tha,t event is now. The. grounds are to be put in order, the grand stand anu ex- U bit buildings are to be repaired. the premium list must be printed. If these things are put off now they will Just as easily be put off later -and next fall there will be another fiasco. The cynics will say I told you so . and the sute will say that Elizabeth City is al ways promising and never achieving. The outlook along business lines Is bright. I'eace, plenty aim prosperity seem to be smiling with special favor upon this nation today. Next year ought to be the best year for a fair that the section has sen in a decade.
