A very small profit per ton of se«d crushed if the mill were to run every day in the year wouki pay a good profit on the investlment. As it ia, the longest season of any mill is five months: moat mills run only four months. For the balance of the season ! the mill is forced to tlMnd kile with the l»alary of the tjookkeeper. mH—r jkrton out th** li^ac trn:. -what we wou’.\ has f '‘'ti i r« tJ moral obligatioas of 11 in liml he must have read onr arlicle *fore publication while paying our (.thee a pi^raonal caII, We m»! draw lh;H fU luotion as it i» the oi.Iy way %v!' The Graphic devotes a column and a half of reading matter the substance rf A* ( «>r fnn» to b«» diiated. h'fr c* i tainJy ho can see things and draw concIiiijioriB that no one else can, so we don’t feel convicted at all just bfcauH.» the Graphic says so. . The Graphic bases its conclusions as to our inconsistency on the grounds that this paper endorsed Mr. Arring ton’s candidacy for treasurer and deni ed the right of the Graphic to endorse the candidacy of Mr. Winstead. In the first place the pretension that this pa per took any such position is entirely erroneous. We have never criticised The Graphic for or denied its right to advocate Mr. Winstead. What we did criMcise the Graphic for was its at tack on the candidacy of Mr. Arrington. Our poHltion is this: We have never crViuiaod Mr. candidacy. (;rrt\)hic Uul cn^iBv . - Umi'm “wF "tTiink without justi/icalio/i «ir chuso. We think Mr. Arrington has the same right to aspire to the position of treasurer as Mr. Winstead. No more, no less. This has bflen our position all the time. The Graphic states that its utterances are not “controlled by any man, set of men, or combination” and later in it« article states that a large number of Rocky Mount's businessmen own stock in this paper. We hope the Graphic did not mean to leave the inference that this paper was controlled by “any man, set of men, or combination'* for if it did, it would cause us to leave the track of courteous language and brand the statement what it is. The state ment that business men of Rocky Mount own stock in this paper we wnnt to brand here for the benefit of 'i*hc 0'rapi]ic *Lod utli«r )>arti«M made that statomont in any attempt to inMln\iali‘ mat its utterftnces are con trolled thereby, either false or errone ous. All the preferred stock of The Record wa? retired over twelve months ago. We have not received anything for advocating the nomination of Mr. Arring.on. We did it because he is a citiz‘*n of Rocky Mount, a man who is compett^nt and worthy and a personal friend. However in doing so we did not say one word reflecting upon any other candidate. The Graphic went out of its path to attack Mr. Arrington’s candidacy. Wf honestly and candidly believe that The Graphic has made votes for Mr. Arrington thereby for the peo- pl.'of Na.^h county know' him well enough to turn a deaf ear to traducers and suf'h attacks will only have the ef fect to make his friend.s rally to hjs support. mAiiMg^r and I *7/ t** carried lUi Lh«year, the The* ^itor I “ Unterroen, preas- I men and seed shovelers, being picked up and let out with the opening and closing of each season. The mere state ment that “Bromonia” is of such tremendous efficacy and so beneficial that it should be in the home of every citizen in the civi lized world is not enough nowa days to convince the sceptical public, deluded as it has been in the past by the myraids of fak ers and heartless charlatans, who have taken the public’s money in^xchange for danger ous, insidious and habit-forming drugs. The invalid in these en lightened days wants some evi dence of sincerity on the part of the owner of a proprietary reme dy before investing money. We propose to see that every ►♦liwd hxiTntm adu\t wbo de sires to try our remedy at our expense can do so without one cent of cost. We are capitalized at Four Millions of dollars, this amount being thought necessary in order to carry out our plans. Read the following carefully: If you have consumption or some of the contagious forms of blood poisoning we cannot cure you. We don’t pretend to cure you. You need the individual treat ment of some skilled specialists but if you are run down in gen eral health, if you have dyspep sia, are subject to fainting spells a victim to insomnia, biliousness kidney or liver trouble, catch cold easily, if your system is in that condition that you may be come an easy prey to the disease germs of pneumonia, la grippe and the various epidemics, if you are bothered with constant head ache, loss of memory, generally impaired vitality, we can help you, and, if you follow our di rection, render you immune against sickness. Most skin dis ease can be cured by the use of “Bromonia.” “Bromonia” is to the human system what the scrubbing brush and soap are to the dirty washbowl. It aids Nature to resume normal action. It in creases the strength, the fight ing ability of the phagocytes of the blood: it promotes the healthy flow of the salivary and gastic secretions. The vital part of the human machine is the stomach. When it is strong and acts naturally, so that digestion is per fect and the food that furnishes our steampower is stimulated, and the waste properly removed, then we can do our best work and get the most enjoyment out of life. On the other hand, if the stomach gives out, all the vital organs will soon become weakene1 and diseased. There will be headaches, back-aches, pains in the sides and limbs, specks before the eyes, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, weakness and debility.
